Roger A. Feutz, age 92 of Grand Rapids, passed away on June 27, 2024. He was born October 18, 1931.He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald; parents, Paul and Mary (Dolly); and sisters, Emma Jeanne (Donald) Hamilton, and (Arlie) Albrecht, Nancee (Willfred) Cyr; brothers, Gerard (Evelyn) and John David; sister-in-law, Alice Feutz; brother-in-law, George Erwood, parents-in-law, James and Bernice Delaney, brother-in-law, Dennis (Jackie) Delaney, sister-in law, Elizabeth (Gerald) DeBoer. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary (Delaney); sons, Michael (Joanne), David (Margaret), Ron’s wife Laura Feutz Miller, Gary (Denise); daughters, Marie Sansone, Peggy (Michael) Travis, Donna (Duane) DiFranco, Rita (Perry) Wass, Vicki (Kelly) Glynn, 28 grandchildren: Monica Wilson, Matthew Sansone, Mark Sanson; Julie Proefrock, Greg, Steven and David Feutz; Mark, Peter and Patrick Feutz, Jennifer Krarup, Ryan and Robert Feutz, Erin Stelma, Todd Travis, Kristi Grant; Brian and Daniel Feutz, Joseph, Michael, Maria, Theresa, Stephen DiFranco; Benjamin, Olivia Wass; Samuel, Abigail, and Hunter Glynn; and 38 precious great-grandchildren; his brothers, Paul Thomas, and Richard Feutz; and sister, Sally Erwood; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Roger attended and graduated from Catholic Central in 1950. It was there that he met his wife, Mary. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and upon release was in the sheet metal trade and worked at Holwerda-Huizenga, then Enterprise Construction where he was Shop Foreman until retirement. He was a sheet metal apprentice instructor for several years. He enjoyed spending summers at Brady Lake and 25 winters in Ellenton, Florida. He loved a good card game, hunting squirrels, and golfing. Roger was a lifetime parishioner at St. Alphonsus Church where a Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday, July 2, at 11am. Visitation will be held Monday July 1, 2024, from 6-8pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd SE, and one hour prior to Mass at the church. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
