Robert (Bob) Henry Toppel, age 82, of Cascade went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He wanted to be with his best friend and wife of 44 years, Mary Jane Toppel. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy Kent, Penny Kay, Wilma Staamp, Marion Cutler; brother, Bill Toppel; and granddaughter, Crystal Toppel. He left behind his children, Robert H. Toppel II, Randy (Bernice) Toppel, Rick (Samantha) Toppel, Mary Kay Bierens; grandchildren, Robert (Chelsey) Toppel III, Sindy (Coty) Flier, Kyle (Cecily) Toppel, Kimberly (Cam) Parrish, Rick Toppel II, Steven Bierens, Mary Elizabeth Bierens, Cory (Lauren), Treasure (Ryan); 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Joanne Parker; brothers, Hank (Jan) Toppel, Fred Toppel, and Chuck Toppel. Visitation will be 4-7 pm, Sunday, December 5, 2021, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, December 6, 2021, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel with visitation one-hour prior. Msgr. Ernest P. Schneider, officiating. Interment Cascade Cemetery.
