Retha Florance Frozley (Wood), age 88, passed away peacefully following an illness on December 8, 2025. Her passing occurred on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a day of deep significance to her faith, and also on what would have been her late husband Don’s birthday.
Retha was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a dedicated and successful realtor, beginning her career at Carriage House and later continuing with Greenridge Realty. In addition to her real estate work, Retha owned and managed rental properties, handling most repairs and maintenance herself with determination and skill.
She greatly enjoyed playing Bridge and other card games, valuing both the challenge and the fellowship they provided. Above all, Retha remained steadfast in her faith and unwavering in her lifelong support of the Catholic Church.
Retha is survived by her children, Kirk Stull (Lisa), Kraig Stull (Cynthia Creswell), Karon Koepke (Richard), and Dianna Hill; as well as their father, Thomas Stull. She is also survived by her stepchild, Greg Frozley (Allison). Retha was blessed with 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Joan Kaiser (Wood), Art Wood (Linda), and Stan Wood (Kay).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Frozley; her baby sister, Cheryl Wood; son-in-law, Kenneth Hill; her granddaughter, Renee Koepke; and her stepson, Steve Frozley.
In keeping with her faith and values, much of Retha’s estate will be donated to St. Robert Catholic School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School.
Retha will be remembered for her strength, independence, generosity, and deep devotion to her family and faith.
Visitation will be held 4-6pm, Monday, January 5, 2026, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with Rosary Service at 5:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00am, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at St. Robert of Newminster Parish, 6477 Ada Dr SE, Ada, MI 49301 with visitation one-hour prior. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Caledonia.

Retha was my dear friend and sister in the Lord. We had many good talks about family and loved to talk about what we were learning in our bibles. We also enjoyed a good game of Skip Bo and I never could beat her. You will be missed my friend. Rest in the peace of the Lord.
