Randy Yob, 61, of Lowell, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born on December 10, 1963, and in 1985 he met and later married the love of his life, Sandy. Together they shared 35 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and family. Nothing was more important to Randy than his girls, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Known for his generosity and willingness to help, Randy was the person you could always count on – the answer was always “yes.” He had a gift for fixing almost anything and found joy in lending a hand to others. Randy was also one of the hardest workers you could ever meet. Randy instilled that same strong work ethic and focus on helping others in his daughters. He took pride in his work and enjoyed it, whether it was on the job, in the garage, or helping a friend with a project.
Later in his life, he was blessed to have the opportunity to work with his friends who he considered family at Spoelstra Pools and Hawk Property Management.
Beyond his talents, Randy loved snowmobiling, driving Jeeps, and taking his boat out on Murray Lake with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy Yob; daughters, Jordan Burzych (Jay), Madison Clay (Andrew), and Mackenzie Yob; father, Charles Yob; brothers, Charles Yob Jr. (Shirley), Rick Yob, Ron Yob, and John Yob; sister, Gina Pellegrini (Dennis); brothers- and sisters-in-law, Dale & Laurie Witczak and Dave & Judy Destefano; and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who were family in every way that mattered.
Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Jackalyn Yob; father-in-law, Wally Witczak; mother-in-law, Diana Puschel; niece, Hannah Yob; and brother-in-law Mark, Witczak.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, December 15, 2025, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546; with a Rosary at 7pm, followed by a Time of Sharing at 7:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church, 6477 Ada Drive Ada, Michigan 49301, with visitation one hour prior from 10-11am. Fr. Tony Russo presiding. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Hands of Hope of West Michigan.
Randy’s legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
