Patricia L. Hurley

Patricia L. Hurley, age 81 of Jackson, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023. Her greatest joy was being a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; son, Brian; parents, Alex and Florence Jason; grandsons, Noah, and Elijah Mauren. Patricia is survived by her children, Colleen Mauren, Mark Hurley, Susan (Gary) Williams; grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, and Rachel Mauren, Christian Williams, Gabrielle and Cullen Hurley; great-granddaughter, Philomena “Minnie” Mauren and three nephews living across the country. Patricia was a devoted Catholic guided by her unwavering faith. She proudly served the Lansing School District and later, at Meijer Distribution for ten years. A remarkable 30-year cancer survivor, she embodied bravery and tenacity in the face of adversity. Patricia found solace in the pages of books, nurtured serenity through her love for gardening, bird watching, and beamed with pride while attending her beloved grandchildren’s sporting events. Her legacy is one of faith, strength, and boundless love, forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her. A private family service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

  1. Sending love and prayers specifically to Brian Hurley’s family – Beloved Wife Kim – their courageous daughter Gabby and ambitious son Cullen.

    My heartfelt condolences go out to this family specifically. Who were not able to be at the funeral and who were not properly recognized in the obituary. Nana was so proud to call all of you family… her true family.

  7. Nana’s hold a very special place in the hearts of those that truly love them. Kim, Gabby, Cullen, and Kilee we know how much she meant to you all and how hard this is. Even though you all will miss Nana be assured that she knew who loved her and she will always watch over those of you who meant the most to her.
