Pamela Jo Nicholson

Pamela Jo (nee Nerheim) Nicholson, age 81, of Grand Rapids, passed away October 5, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nicholson and parents Gerald Nerheim and Evelyn Meyers. Pam is survived by her sons, Thomas (Emily) Nicholson and Christopher Nicholson; grandchildren Kyle Nicholson (Monique), Brooke Nicholson, Kobe Griffieon, Tyler Nicholson, Paige Nicholson; brother Gerald (Jill) Nerheim; sister Phyllis Newman; brother-in-law Shaun Nicholson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pam graduated from Davenport College and worked as a paralegal early in her career. After raising her family, she became a licensed agent for State Farm in Grand Rapids where she worked for more than 25 years. She enjoyed getting to know her clients and guiding them to find the best insurance policies to make sure they were protected.

Pam was kind and generous, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and sheep dogs. She especially loved celebrating the holidays with family and friends with extravagant homemade meals in her beautiful home where everyone always felt welcome. When not at work, she could be found tending to her meticulous gardens.

Lake Michigan held special memories in her life, whether it was in Grand Haven or her hometown of Ludington. Pam also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and visited Norway, Ireland, Sweden, Germany and Mexico.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1449 Wilcox Park Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, with visitation one hour prior. Rv. James Chelich presiding. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
