It is with profound sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy Carole Devon, who left us peacefully on February 18, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on April 10, 1940, Nancy lived a life defined by elegance, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. She carried herself with quiet grace and possessed a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and at ease. Her presence brought warmth into every room, and her gentle spirit touched all who knew her.

Family was the heart of Nancy’s world. She found her greatest joy in time spent together—whether traveling to beautiful places, enjoying nature, cheering on a polo match, exploring the ocean through scuba diving, celebrating milestones, or simply creating everyday memories that would last a lifetime. She embraced life with both sophistication and adventure. Her strength, compassion, and steadfast love shaped generations and will continue to guide those she leaves behind.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Vida Dawkins. She shared 33 loving years with her devoted partner, Ken Hinton, and was previously married for 30 years to Wesley Devon. She is survived by her brother, Jon Dawkins; her children, Kimber Devon and Wesley Scott Devon Jr. (wife, Terri); her cherished grandchildren: Lindsay Benedict (husband, Derek), Alexandra Patane, Joseph Patane Jr., Emerson (wife, Mel), and Cole (wife, Tiah). Her legacy lives on through her adored great-grandchildren: Milana, Natalia, Aria, and Carter. She is also lovingly remembered by Jon and Julie Johnson; Jessi Clark (husband, Jesse, and son, Jalen); and Kate Bailey (husband, Austin, and son, Bryce), along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives were enriched by her love.

Nancy’s life was a testament to grace, loyalty, adventure, and the enduring power of family. Though we grieve her loss, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a love that will remain with us always.

In honor of her incredible journey and the love she shared with all, a Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Calvary Church, 707 East Beltline NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Bissell Pet Foundation, or D.A. Blodgett St. John’s.

  1. Even though I only knew Nancy for a couple of years, she was “grandmother” to our Family. She treated my daughter Tiah and grandson Carter as her own and that will be my lasting memory of her legacy. There’s no doubt in my mind that she is in heaven and no longer suffering but living eternal life in paradise. May her memory be eternal.
