Michael A. Johnson

Michael “Mike” Johnson, age 71 of Grand Rapids, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Natalie Johnson. Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy – together over 50 years; brother, David (Bonnie) Johnson; sister-in-law, Brenda (Mike) Arnold; brother-in-law, Kelly (Dina) Schell; several nieces and nephews; and best friend, Al Rodriguez. Mike retired from the City of Grand Rapids after over 30 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, specifically by railway. He was able to experience many different countries and cultures including South Africa, Australia, Thailand, New Zeeland; and loved to vacation in Bermuda. Visitation with the family will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, September 29, 2023, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE Grand Rapids, MI 49506, with prayers at 7:30pm. Memorial contributions can be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
