We have lost a beautiful and amazing daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Melissa Ann Hill, 39, of Alto, MI, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 3, 2016. She was born on August 3, 1976 in Kalamazoo, MI to her loving parents, Dean and Ton Hill. Melissa grew up in Marquette, MI and later moved to East Lansing, MI, where she graduated High School in 1994.
Recently, Melissa proudly celebrated a five-year anniversary as a product content specialist for Amway North America. She was taking evening courses at Grand Rapids Community College, through Ferris State University Extension, and nearing completion of a post-secondary degree.
Melissa always had a radiant smile and infectious laugh that brightened the lives of all around her. She was loyal and loving to all who were fortunate to share her path in life. Melissa’s kindness and generosity to those she loved was ever present. Her sudden passing has come as a shock to us all, and we are comforted by the countless, wonderful memories of Melissa; and the infinite love she will always have for us. Melissa is now riding the Carolina Blue wave, to a place somewhere over the rainbow, to rest peacefully for eternity.
Melissa was preceded in death by her grandfather Robert Bruce Hill, of Bellaire, MI; and her grandparents Kiem and Tam Chau, of Go Cong, Vietnam.
Melissa is survived by her parents Dean and Ton Hill, of Deltona, FL; her brother Chris (Amy) Hill, of Cary, NC; her brother Charlie (Lisa Colwell) Hill, of Marquette, MI; her grandmother Dorothy Hill, of Bellaire, MI; her loving nephews, Miles and Oscar; her loving nieces Lucy and Fiona; and her loving aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous other relatives, and friends and co-workers she considered family.
