Maureen Margaret Flanagan, age 77 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Constance Flanagan, brothers, Brian and Chuck Flanagan; and sister, Patty Flanagan. Maureen is survived by her sisters, Charlene (Gary) Hesselink, Linda (Tim) Savage; sister-in-law, Kathy Flanagan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Maureen graduated from Catholic Central in 1966. She worked in billing at Spectrum Hospital until retirement. Maureen was an avid bowler, loved playing bingo, was the #1 fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and of Elvis. She loved and adored her cats. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, October 9, 2025, with visitation one-hour prior at St. Thomas the Apostle, 1449 Wilcox Park Dr SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506. Rev. Stephen Durkee presiding. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Central High School, Advancement Office, 319 Sheldon Blvd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Maureen’s family. Maureen was a dear friend and coworker and I would visit her often. We enjoyed going out to eat until she was no longer able to do so but we still had nice visits even after that. I just found out of her passing today and will miss my dear friend. Rest in peace.
