Mary Susan (Gee) Doyle, 93 of Lowell went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27th, 2023, with her children at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Roland “Mike” Doyle, sister Nancy Porritt and her parents James and Genevieve Gee. She is survived by and will be missed by her children, Carol Doyle, James (Kelly) Doyle, Stephen (Michelle) Doyle, Paula (Chris) Briggs; eight grandchildren: Hannah (Kanon) Dean and Maria Briggs, Caitlin (Lucas) Topie, Michael and Anna Doyle, Genevieve, Quinlan and Monica Doyle; and many cherished extended family members and friends. Susan was born in Grand Rapids and moved to Lowell with her parents in 1942. They would build a home “out in the country” on Gee Drive, a road that would be named for her father. She graduated third in her Lowell High School class in 1948 and would go on to graduate from Michigan State University with a degree in elementary education. She taught elementary school in Grand Rapids before settling down to have a family with her husband, Mike. She was an active volunteer with St. Mary Altar Society, the Lowell Library, Lowell Area Historical Museum and Showboat Garden Club. She enjoyed travel, attending flour milling meetings with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader enjoying novels, non-fiction and her Wall Street Journal. The family would like to thank Maple Ridge Manor and Interim Hospice for the care and kindness they provided to our mother, Susan. A visitation will be held Thursday, November 30th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Roth-Gerst Chapel, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, MI 49331. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11 am with visitation one hour prior at St Mary Catholic Church, 402 Amity St SE, Lowell, MI 49331, Rev. Michael Goodwin, presiding. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Church or the Lowell Area Historical Museum.

Dearest Mrs Doyle- You were a wonderful person, I shall always hold with me and share memories of years you were my teacher. You gave me strength to always be strong and persevere. May God keep you always.
