It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Stahel. Mary was born on June 26, 1933 and transitioned out of this life on January 31, 2026. Through her journey of 92 years, she touched many lives with her wisdom, her giving heart and unwavering spirit of perseverance. Her spirit and fierce independence characterized her life, a testament to the power of her indomitable spirit. She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Mary was born in New York City, the daughter of the late John and Maria Klenovich. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Stahel; son, David John Stahel; brothers, Edward and John Klenovich; and sister, Frances Quinn. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mary is survived by her children, Richard Stahel, Carol Ann (Willie) Richards and Steven Stahel; grandchildren, Nichole Richards, Michael (Charisma) Richards, Theon (Tania) Richards, Eric Stahel, Elliot (Raquel) Stahel, Justin Stahel; great-grandchildren, Alexandra Richards, Hali Thompson, Xavier Thompson, Bella Lyric Kitchen, Kennedy Richards, Logan Richards, Ethan Stahel, Adler Stahel, Montgomery and Harrison Stahel; great-great-granddaughter, Leilani Guzman; along with numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Joan Klenovich and Mabeline Stahel. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy and will be cherished by all that knew her. Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day. Love is eternal. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm Wednesday February 11, 2026, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3890 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Funeral will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, at St. Roberts Catholic Church, 6477 Ada Dr. S.E. Ada, MI, 49301. Viewing will be at 10am with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11am. Lunch will be served upstairs, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Willie D. Richards Jr., Paul Richards, Theon Richards, Michael Richards, Xavier Thompson and Eric Stahel.
