Marge passed away on October 16, 2025, at age 89. She lived for 12 years at Covenant Living of the Great Lakes in Grand Rapids, MI and was served in her final days by Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods.
She was born in Detroit on May 27, 1936. Marge met the love of her life, Charlie Sheffieck, at University of Detroit and they were married 65 years until his passing in February 2023. They enjoyed traveling and visiting their large family.
She graduated with a BS in Elementary Education from U of D and taught before their family arrived. For many years, Marge was the support system for her late husband, Charlie, who had his own management consulting firm. Her last career was as a residential realtor in Novi, MI.
Marge was a very active volunteer in her community, church and wherever there was a need. After retirement, she taught English as a second language and maintained relationships with some of her students for many years. She also worked as an election poll chairperson and with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul helping the disadvantaged.
Together, Marge and Charlie raised 6 children: Mike (Julie); Steve (Kim); Joe (Erin); Tom (Lori); Anne (Mark) Krug; Jane (Pat) Doyle. She was the proud grandmother of David (Brigit), Greg, Emily, Elizabeth (Jay), Brian (Stephanie), Matt, Mary, Danny, Scott (Allison), Jeremy (Chelsea), Rachel (Sam), Emma, Charlie, Peter, Lucy, Kelli and Katie. Marge was thrilled with her great-grandchildren: Iris, Gwendolyn, Alanna, Skylar, Gavin, Jaxon and Molly.
She came from a wonderful family. Her mother, Marie, taught in a one-room school before she married Leo Tallieu, a Detroit policeman. As a child, Marge was always proud that her dad caught all the crooks. She dearly loved her siblings: Leo and Carol Tallieu; Kathy (and the late) Larry Eschbach; Fran and (the late) Paul Mallie; Bob and Marlene Tallieu; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Robert of Newminster, 6477 Ada Drive SE, Ada, MI 49301 on November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am, with family receiving guests from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Marge requested that everyone wear bright colors to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, Attention: Donor Services 25200 Telegraph Road, Suite 100 Southfield, MI 48033 or your local St. Vincent de Paul Society would be appreciated.
