Maria Cassidy Spielmaker, age 90 of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas John Cassidy Jr., and Ronald J. Spielmaker; and parents, Marcus and Marina Lovett. Maria is survived by her children, Maria T. Cassidy, Tom (Shelly) Cassidy, Patrick (Daidre) Cassidy, Michael (Hillary) Cassidy, Colleen (Jim) Atchison, Kelly (Tom) Cassidy; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gentry (Marge) Lovett, and Marty (Linda) Lovett. Maria graduated from Aquinas College earning a bachelor’s degree in education. She was an avid gardener and artist. She enjoyed doll making, carving, welding, and creative sewing. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-8pm on Monday, June 9, 2025, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546. Private family interment, Woodlawn Cemetery.
