Margaret McDonald Semlow, age 59 of Wyoming, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Alison Finnie. Margaret is survived by her children, Kristen (Jake) Steinbrecher, Sydney (Matthew Franklin) Semlow, Alec (Gee) Semlow; grandchildren, Liam Steinbrecher, Anaya Semlow; brother, John Finnie; sisters, Alison (Joe) Reitman, Linda (Steve) Belisle, Janice (Dave) Chartier, along with nieces, nephews, and friends.
Margaret earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and devoted many years to serving as a Registered Nurse. She found joy in exploring Michigan—whether walking, hiking, or taking long weekend trips up north. When time allowed, she loved to travel and was especially proud of her adventures in Alaska and whitewater rafting. Above all, Margaret was deeply proud of raising her three children on her own. While raising her eldest and welcoming her two youngest, she pursued and earned her nursing degree—a powerful reflection of her unwavering strength, determination, and deep love as a mother.
Memorial services will be held at 12pm on Friday, November 7, 2025, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Fuenral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49546, with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 27777 Franklin Road #1150 Southfield, Michigan 48034.
