HAYWOOD, Lawrence Blaine, age 89 of Ada, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, February 18, 2017. Blaine was born November 6, 1927 in Grand Rapids, MI, to the late James William Haywood and Agnes (Cummings) Haywood who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son Lawrence B. Haywood; brothers, James, Elton and Ronald Haywood; and sister Ethel Green. Blaine is survived by his loving wife Marie of 68 years; children Paul Haywood, Laura (Curtis) Purnell, Crystal (Jerry) Myers, Sid (MaryJo) Haywood, Philip Sanders and Rhonda Jimmerson – who always called him dad; daughter-in-law Rosie Haywood; grandchildren Amy, Jennifer, Eric, Kelli, Troy, Nicki, Katherine, Blaine, Patricia, Breyound, Issac, Miranda, and Amber; brother Bruce Haywood; sisters Laura Mae Todd, Mary Ann Haywood , Eleanor Williams; a host of great grandchildren; also nieces and nephews. Blaine was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran. He served honorably in The Hawaiian Islands 1946. He received a WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. He loved music, enjoyed sports, antiquing, and collecting coins. Blaine dearly loved his family and will be missed by all. Funeral service will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Ada Christian Reformed Church, 7152 Bradfield St SE, Ada. Rev. Scott Van Voorst officiating. The family will meet with friends and relatives one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum.
