Keeland Thane Johns, dearly loved by family and friends, aged 18, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 of accidental injuries. We live in thankfulness for the years he shared with us and the great gift he was. Keeland, a 2013 graduate of East Grand Rapids High School, played Varsity Hockey and Lacrosse. Keeland had an infectious sense of humor, love of all sports, and showed grit and perseverance throughout his short life. He was a powerful friend to all, especially valuing the brotherhood he shared with teammates. He took joy in working with elementary students who responded enthusiastically to his encouraging presence. Above all, Keeland expressed his gratitude to be surrounded by family whose love and daily support were so important to him. He was cherished by his family, who was thankful everyday for his presence and are now blessed by his memory. Between Keeland and his little brother Asher there was a special bond that will endure always. Keeland is survived by his loving mother Kriste Johns-Weber, step father Andy Weber, and younger brother Asher Weber; grandparents Cheryl and Mike Johns and Lee and Larry Weber; and Mary Kelly and family. In addition, Keeland was blessed with many aunts, uncles, and cousins who grieve in his loss. We hold Keeland in our hearts, radiant and forever young. A Celebration of Keeland’s Life will be held at Fountain Street Church Friday, August 23rd at 11:00 am.
