Kathryn Louise Gehopolos Pickwick passed away on May 22, 2024, at Faith Hospice in Grand Rapids with her loving husband, Dennis, by her side. She was born on June 24, 1947, at Augustana Hospital in Chicago, Illinois to Lewis and Bernadine Gehopolos. She lived in Chicago the first eight years of her life until she moved with her parents back to their hometown of Manistee, Michigan. She attended Manistee Public schools graduating with the class of 1965. After graduating, she attended Northwestern Michigan College, in Traverse City.

Known to her family and friends as Kathy, she often spoke with fondness of her many friends and experiences growing up in Manistee. She especially loved Fifth Avenue Beach and skiing at Big M.

Kathy had a knack for fashion. She worked in her early life at Margaret’s Dress Shop in downtown Manistee where she assisted in the designing of the store windows and also modeled for Glen of Michigan. In addition, she worked in the banking industry for many years, including in Manistee, Chicago and Muskegon. After moving back to Chicago and living there for several years, she relocated to Grand Haven, Michigan.  Later she would meet and marry the love of her life, Dennis Pickwick. She and Dennis lived in many places over the years, including Mobile, Alabama, where their son, Nathan, was born. From that point on, Kathy focused on the raising of their son. She always wanted to be a mother and she cherished that role for the rest of her life.

Although Kathy had many health issues over the years, she never lost her kind & sweet disposition and trusting nature. She always saw the good in other people. Her faith never wavered. She took the opportunity whenever she could to speak of how her faith had changed her life. Even in her hardest fought battle with cancer, Kathy felt that she was motivated by God to serve as a testament to His love and forgiveness. Her favorite bible verses were John 3:16-17 and Romans 10: 9-10.

Surviving Kathy are her beloved husband, Dennis; and their son, Nathan; and daughter-in-law, Jenny. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Monica Gehopolos Anderson, Bethesda (Richard) Kloet; niece, Stacey Anderson; cousin, Amelia Bailey (Ron) Chapko; brother-in-law, Walter (Evelyn}Pickwick, and nephews, Austin and Brian Pickwick.
