Katheryn Rose Rittersdorf went to be with her Savior on November 30, 2025. Katheryn was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Ruby Rittersdorf along with her nephew Michael Rittersdorf.
She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Daniel, Donald (Norma), Charles (Mary), David (Deb), Cheryl, Robert Jr (Molly), as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Kate was born December 19, 1949, to Robert and Ruby Rittersdorf in Lowell Michigan. After graduating high school Kate attended cosmetology school. After some time as a beautician Kate felt the calling of our nation’s military and she enlisted in the Air Force. Kate was stationed in Pensacola Florida. After her time in the military, Kate had a long career as a legal secretary after which she spent some time as a CNA.
Kate had many passions that helped her to pass the time in her retired years. Kate only loved one thing more than spending time with her family and friends, and that was photography. Kate loved to photograph many different types of things, but she was most passionate about capturing people’s most precious moments. Kate loved to take photos of family and friends. She captured all kinds of moments from graduation pictures to family pictures, and even wedding pictures.
In addition to photography, Kate was very passionate about her Lego collection. She enjoyed putting them together as a collection but enjoyed even more sharing her love of Legos with her family and friends by doing Legos together.
While Kate will be missed by those left behind more than anyone can imagine, she will be remembered by those who loved her most for all the amazing memories she both made with them as well as captured for them while behind her camera.
A special thanks to those who provided Kate with amazing care in her final days, Cheryl Berends, Angela Berends, and Amanda Cochran. Because of these amazing women Kate was able to spend her final days in her home surrounded by those who loved her.
