Karen Elizabeth Schwartz

Karen Elizabeth Schwartz (nee Hinch), age 83 of East Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Weldon “Zuke” Schwartz; brothers, Bill (Judy) Hinch, David Hinch; sister-in-law, Lynn (Mike) Donoghue; along with several nieces and nephews. Karen did clerical work most of her career and was a proud volunteer tutoring dyslexic children at Campau Park and volunteering with the American Red Cross. Karen’s family would like to thank Faith Hospice for their wonderful care. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will take place 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday, May 13, 2024, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Cathedral of Saint Andrew Parish, 215 Sheldon Blvd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 with visitation one-hour prior. Rev. William Edens presiding. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Karen’s honor may be made to the Serra Club, 333 W Wacker Dr. Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60606.
