Juliet Gail Barley Nowak, age 75, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully, Monday, March 4, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. Barley Jr., and Elizabeth Gregg Barley; sisters, Elizabeth “Betsy” Barley, Joan Barley; and brother, Lawrence “Larry” Barley. Juliet is survived by her husband, John M. Nowak; children, Sarah (Kevin) Mulvihill, Christopher (Cynthia) Nowak, Jessica (Andrew) Rushing, Alexandra (John) McCall; grandchildren, Henry Mulvihill, Jack Mulvihill, Samuel Nowak, Nicholas Nowak, Peter Rushing, Katherine Rushing, Simon Rushing, Natalie McCall, Ryan McCall, Christina McCall; sister, Mary Lou Martin; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Barley; nieces and nephews, Betsy Ramirez, Laurie Hehl, Tim Barley, Ann Kissane, Kerry Beasley, and Chip Beasley. Juliet graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in reading. She enjoyed traveling, walking, reading, and spending time with her children and grandkids. Visitation will take place 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Thursday, March 7, 2024, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with a Rosary Service following at 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Friday, March 8, 2024, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 151 Garfield Ave SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Rev. Robert Sirico presiding. Interment Portland Cemetery.

We are so deeply heartbroken for you and your family. Gail was a beautiful lady inside and out. The love you had in your marriage and family was strong and faithful.
