Judy Lynn Bennett

Judy Lynn Bennett, age 73, of Grand Rapids passed away Monday, September 1, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 54 years,  Larry Bennett Sr.; children, Cindy (Jason) Kelsey, Buddy (Katie) Bennett; grandchildren, J.J. Kelsey, Blake Bennett, Drew Bennett, Claire Bennett; sisters, Ethel Thebo, Mary Jane Story, Shirley Lawton, Barbara Herring, Carol (Jim) Morehouse, Betty Rich, Joan Lipsomb; brothers-in-law, Chuck Bennett, Greg Bennett, Denny Bennett, Doug (Michelle) Bennett, Dan (Star) Bennett, John (Kristi) Bennett, Tom Bennett; sisters-in-law, very special sister-in-law Sally (Bob) Gable, Diane (Scott) Blaisdell; very special friend Vonnie Sandner; sister-in-law, Sandy Bennett; and many other family and friends. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John (Ethel) Rich; in-laws, Russ (Dag) Bennett; brothers, Jack Rich, Jim Rich, Bob Rich, Bill Rich, and Joe Rich. Judy was a graduate of Creston High School in 1970. She was a copartner for 46 years of B&B Chimney. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren attending every game they played, going to the casino, fishing, and entertaining in her backyard. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a Celebration of Life at 8pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Rev. Ron Thebo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.

  1. Judy you will be missed by many ! I l loved playing cards with you once a month & you were so generous with your amazing pool with the best hospitality !! Not to mention the crazy girls weekends & you putting up with are crazy family🤣 Love you so much & I hope your “winning Big “ in Heaven❤️❤️

  2. Shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of this great family’s matriarch. Judy you loved and supported your family at every opportunity as well as enjoying them. Prayers and support sent to Larry, Buddy, and all the Bennett’s. RIP Judy.

  3. Remembering all the boxing matches we attended to cheer on those Marine Corps boxers! I remember all the fun times many years ago at all those softball games. Lots of laughs . Jesus welcomed her with open arms ❤️

  4. My soulmate for 50 years. We did everything together and talked every day. I am so blessed to have her lasting memories, support, love and guidance . It is very sad for me and so many others. Love you Judy. Watch over us 🙏🥰

  5. Judy, you were an amazing example of kindness and love to all you met! Your strength this past couple of years as your health worsened didn’t go unnoticed by all who were aware. I know you are in a better place now being easy! You will be so missed and the memories of family and friends gathered around the pool negation of the person you were, will always live on my heart.   6. So sad and shocked to hear of Judy’s passing. Went to Creston with her. Such a nice person. Kept up with her on Facebook. My prayers to Larry and the whole family.

  7. My heart goes out to Judy’s family. She was a wonderful giving person she fought the fight as long as she could. Thank you Joan for sharing your sister with me. I got to go to beautiful Sanibel Island with her twice and all the good meals I got to have because of her. She will be missed a lot. (Hey Judy try a crab leg for me) Love Debbie
