Joe Strouse, age 84, of Ada, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Joe was born and raised in Lowell, Michigan to Vernon Strouse and Lura (Potter) Strouse, who preceded him in death. The Lowell community remained close to his heart and helped shape the values of hard work, humility, and loyalty that defined his life.
He proudly served overseas in the United States Army. Following his service, Joe built a long and dedicated career at Lacks Industries, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and reliability until his retirement.
Joe attended Ferris State University and Aquinas College. A man of few words, he was known for his quiet nature and extremely dry sense of humor, often delivered with perfect timing. He showed his love through steady actions and unwavering support for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon “Sherry” Strouse; his children, Eric Strouse; Shelly (Alan) Vallee/Roy; Lisa (Ken) Suttorp; and Casey Lewis (Mike) Shaw. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Strouse.
He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.
Joe was also blessed with lifelong friendships with Mike and Gloria Organek and Ron and Jane Wood.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Kay Menzel, Joy Shattuck, and Ray Strouse.
Honoring Joe’s wishes, he has been cremated and no services will be held.
Joe will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to family, and the understated humor that brought smiles to those who knew him.
