Jimmy “Jim” J. Zawacki, age 69, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lorraine Zawacki; his parents-in-law, Grant and Marlene Pearce; his father-in-law, Bert Daniels; and his brother, Dennis Zawacki.
Jim will be lovingly missed by his beloved wife of 47 years, Kim; his sons, Jeffrey and Matthew; his cherished grandsons, Marcus and Cody; his brothers, Robert Zawacki and Scott (Dianne) Zawacki; his sister, Lynn Hollins; mother-in-law, Susan Daniels; his brothers-in-law, Kord (Emma) Daniels, Tom (Joyce) Daniels, and Tim (Patti) Daniels; his sister-in-law, Heidi VanWyk; along with many aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Jim graduated from Wyoming Park High School and went on to dedicate 42 years of service to Comcast before retiring.
Jim found great joy in life at the cottage, especially spending time on the pontoon. He loved hunting, fishing, and golfing, and was a devoted fan of both Detroit and Michigan sports teams. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and could often be found caring for his green grass. Above all, Jim treasured time spent with his family, especially vacations together that created lasting memories.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Network or Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
