Jean D. Rockett, age 87 of Lowell, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Rockett; and brother, Robert Homkes. Jean is survived by her children, Laurie (David Drent) Vitale, Steven (Donna) Rockett, Christie (Norman) Holliday; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Bobbi) Tase, Jeremiah (Sarah) Tase, Miranda Tase, Shane (Brandi Pinckney) Vitale, Joshua (Abbey Collins) Rockett, Christina Sanders-Rockett, Colton (Bobbie) Holliday, Jeremy (Michelle) Drent, Calvin (Armondo) Drent, Jasmine (Dan) Childs; 24 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Trudy Homkes; and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. She spent many years teaching her passion of art at Ada Christian School and private lessons at her home studio in Ada, MI. Best known for her renderings of Lake Michigan, Jean was the first female accepted into the American Association of Marine Artists. She later showcased her work with various galleries. Jean was passionate about her home on the back water of the Flat River, hosting many special occasions and making lasting memories for family and friends. She was a devote Christian and a faithful life-long member of the Christian Reformed Church.
Funeral Services will take place at 11am Monday, April 28, 2025, at Calvary Christian Reformed Church of Lowell, 1151 W Main St, Lowell, MI 49331, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Micah Shin officiating. Interment Ada Cemetery.
