Helen Irene Francisco, age 87, passed away on April 6, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Alida (Plantz) Brooks; her beloved husband, Richard “Dick” Francisco; her daughter, Denise Francisco; and her siblings, Franklin Fornoff, Frances (Lewis) Therkildsen, Betty (Lewis) Sweitzer, John Fornoff, Marie Brooks, and infant brother, David C. Brooks.
Helen is lovingly remembered by her son, Richard G. (Melissa) Francisco II; son-in-law, Eric Witherell; her grandchildren, Heather and Shawn Witherell; and her great-grandchildren, Giada “Gigi” Grim, Honor Barker, Legend Barker, and Cole Grim.
Helen was raised at Villa Maria Convent in Grand Rapids, where she attended school through graduation. She had once planned to enter religious life, but her path changed when she met the love of her life, Dick, and they were married.
Helen found joy in simple, meaningful hobbies, including ceramics, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She generously volunteered her time creating infant hats for newborns at local hospitals—making more than 300 each year. Helen was a fiercely independent woman and a devoted Catholic, whose faith guided her life.
Above all, Helen cherished her family. They were the center of her world and her greatest source of pride and joy.
Family will greet friends and relatives from 5-8PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Roth-Gerst Funeral Home, 305 N. Hudson, Lowell, Michigan, 49331.
