Heather Christine Looman, age 52 of Ada, formerly of Saginaw, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 27, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Cheri Meyer; and father-in-law, David Looman. Heather is survived by her husband of 22 years, Mark Looman; daughters, Chloe, Phoebe, Elly; sister, Mindi Meyer; mother-in-law, Joyce (Wes) Looman-Kiel; sisters-in-law, Linda (Ramon) Quintero, Wendy Looman (Joan Kowalsky); aunt, Marilyn Thompson; niece, Maggi Wilson; and canine companion, Tilly. She graduated from Aquinas College with her Bachelor of Science, and went on to become a Histotechnologist, for 28 years. She loved scrapbooking, antiquing, car rides, and decorating. Heather had an optimistic and open outlook on the world. She saw the good in things from heart shaped rocks to angel wings in the clouds. Her passion of antiques was best expressed in her home where she repurposed vintage corbels and hurricanes as displays and accents. Every lamp and shelf had color and prisms. One friend is quoted as saying, “walking into Heather’s home is like walking into a hug”. A time of gathering will be held from 3 PM-6 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE., Grand Rapids, MI 49546. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time. Memorial Contributions can be directed to Hospice of Michigan, Donation Processing Center, 989 Spaulding Ave. SE, Ada, MI 49301.

  1. Mark, I’m so sorry for your loss of your dear wife, Heather. My memories of her were of all during good times when I would see her at Beth’s house and all of the girls were giggling and enjoying one another. Heather was always smiling and kind and being creative when I saw her. I will wish you and the girls much strength as you all grapple with such a great loss in your lives.
