SCOTT – Harrison Lee (Scotty) Scott aged 83 of Cascade Township lost his courageous battle with Parkinsons Disease early April 14 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Lou his children Susan (Rick) Gould (formerly Fase) Nancy (Mike) Voltz Lee H. (Laurie) Scott Amy (Shana) Scott and Lori (Jeamie) Price; his grandchildren Tracye Fase Miles Lee Fase Kate (Brian) Gilbert Lisa Voltz Scott (fiance Alicia) Voltz Alison Scott Hayley Scott Madeline Scott Emma Price and Lexie Scott and great grandchildren Trenton Tyler and Tiffanie Fase and Aiden and Emily Gilbert; siblings Mary Herndon Robert (Jo) Scott Patricia (Don) Zaccardi Tracy (Carole) Scott and was preceded in death by sister Virginia Boyd. Scotty was born and raised in Canton Ohio honorably served in the US Navy during WWII and graduated Cum Laude from Central Michigan University Class of 1950. After college he started his long career in the lumber industry as a lumberjack in the Pacific Northwest. He came to Western Michigan in 1952 and began a 44 year career with the Edward Hines Lumber Company. After retiring his love of the lumber business led him to start a division at Empire Distributors and finally help found Select Forest Products with his son Lee in 1991. Besides his love of family Scottys great passions included Baseball Country Music Travel working in his yard a great game of Scrabble and sharing his wonderful sense of humor. Members of the family will receive friends and relatives at OBrien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home 3980 Cascade Rd SE from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on April 15. Services to be held at 11 a.m. April 16 at Cascade Christian Church Chapel Orange Street SE Reverend Raymond Gaylord officiating. Interment to follow at Cascade Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gaylord House or the Parkinsons Association of West Michigan.
