Gregory James LaFave

Gregory James LaFave, age 76 of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Betty LaFave. Greg is survived by his lifelong partner, Carmen Pinilla; children, Mellisa LaFave, Christopher LaFave, Teresa Smith; grandchildren, Austin and Anthony Merz; brother, Tom LaFave, sister-in-law, Kelly Knudson; and aunt, Alice Fodor. Greg graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central. He went on to work as a butcher and catering chef. Greg enjoyed reading, cooking, basketball, pool, and golf. Greg enjoyed the company of family and friends. He filled 76 years with his passion for reading, cooking, and sports. Though health challenges kept him bedridden in recent years, his spirit remained strong. He’ll be deeply missed but forever remembered. Celebration of Life to be determined.
