Frank Stanley Kloska

Frank Stanley Kloska, age 81, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret Kloska; his brothers, Ron Kloska and Norb Kloska; and his parents, Frank B. and Katherine Kloska.

Frank is lovingly remembered by his children, Julianne (Matt) Mead and James (Jacqueline) Kloska; his cherished grandchildren, Hannah (Jack) Heffron, Gavin Mead, Grace Mead, Emma Kloska, and Cole Kloska; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia Heffron. He is also survived by his brother, Irv (Bonnie) Kloska; sister, Marie (Mike) Wisinski; sister-in-law, Joan Weber; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A proud graduate of Catholic Central High School, Frank was a gifted athlete who helped lead his golf team to a state championship. He continued his education at Aquinas College and Davenport University, where he played golf on scholarship. In his younger years, Frank was offered the opportunity to pursue professional golf through a PGA sponsorship but chose instead to dedicate his life to raising and providing for his family, a decision that reflected the depth of his character and devotion.

Frank proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era before beginning a long and respected career with the United States Postal Service, where he worked in management until his retirement.

A devoted Catholic, Frank was a faithful member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for more than 50 years and was also a longtime member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Golf League. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and lived his faith daily, instilling strong values, love, and devotion in his family.

Frank had a lifelong passion for golf and fishing and referred to himself as a “stubborn golfer.” He was also an enthusiastic supporter of Catholic Central athletics and rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren throughout their sporting seasons and activities.

Above all, Frank will be remembered as an influential father, devoted husband, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and man of unwavering faith. His family will forever carry with them the wisdom and positivity he shared so freely, especially the phrase he often repeated: “Smilers never lose, and quitters never win.”

Family will greet friends and relatives from 4-7PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546, with a Rosary at 6:30PM. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49506, with visitation one hour prior. Fr. Troy Nevins presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming, Michigan.
