Erik Jon Feldt, age 39 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8th at his home. He will be remembered, in part, for his resilience and determination.
Erik was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on April 1, 1984, to Kenneth and Diane Feldt. He was a 2002 alumni of Alma High School and later graduated from Central Michigan University where he studied business and finance. To most he was a man of few words, but he never failed with an opportunity to use quick wit. With determination and perseverance, he worked his way through the ranks as a restaurateur while in his free time he enjoyed traveling and running. He was generally a simple person but was an aficionado from time to time.
Erik is survived by: his father, Kenneth Feldt of Higgins Lake, Michigan; his sister, Eva Parker (Kevin) of Griffin, Georgia; his niece and nephew, Victoria and Immanuel; his grandfather, David Morse; his long-time partner, Melanie Ball; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that were undeniably like family to him. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Diane Feldt (Morse); his sister, Roechelle Feldt; his paternal grandparents, Muriel and Roy Feldt; his maternal grandmother, JoAnn Morse; and his gentle giant Labrador, Max.
Friends and family are invited to share stories of remembrance at a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 17th at 11:00 am at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Rev. Andrea Baas officiating. A private family burial will be at Mears Cemetery in Mears, Michigan. Contributions in honor of Erik may be made to: The National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 006, Newton, MA 02458 or Emmanuel Hospice, 401 Hall Street SW, Suite 263, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.

You will forever be missed, we will keep you in our hearts. You were truly inspiring!
Erik,
The news of your passing has been undeniably difficult for the P.F. Chang’s family. You helped create students into young professionals and ran one of the most successful restaurants in the P.F. Chang’s empire. Your wisdom, wit, and grit will truly be missed by all that knew you. I owe so much of who I am as a professional to you and respect you for your years of patience and guidance.
You will be missed greatly by those who knew you best. Cheers to you Big Man.
Erik,
You were a man of few words, but when you spoke people listened. You carried yourself in a way where people respected and admired you. My career at Chang’s started with you. You’ve challenged and taught me things that helped me be successful in my career path. We had so many fun moments and memories that are linked to Chang’s. We are family, we will always be the Chang Gang. I’m truly saddened and will miss you and your sense of humor. Watch over us my friend.
