Edwin Leroy Ford, 85, passed away October 28, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janet; his four children Edwin (Julie), Andrea (Ben), Linda (Kevin), Matthew (MaryLynn); 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was an Army Veteran, Master Electrician, Minister and member of the Community of Christ church. He liked helping others with auto mechanics and building projects. He enjoyed worshipping with other followers of Christ. Ed was dearly loved and will be missed.
A celebration of his life will be held November 8, 2025, at 2pm at the Community of Christ – Thornapple River, 8147 68th Street SE, Alto, MI. Donations may be made to your local food pantry.

Ed Sr. was a valued mentor. I first met him when he volunteered his time and energy helping to construct the Grand Valley church. In future years he was a minister at church and we became close friends. I valued his humility and gentle faith.
Ed was another of my fathers from church. He and Janet always welcomed us as family. I haven’t seen him in many years simply because life took me to other places. I will miss him.

meet Ed many years ago he was a good friend I learned a lot from him like how to change a culch in a old Toyota that I had, and many good things in life.

You taught me about God, keeping promises and commitments, telling the truth….. like when I forgot to put a ratchet set away outside and it rained. You found it, but it was a bit rusty. I said someone else
me save my allowance to pay you back… so I did not get fired at age 9.

Thank you for coming to the Cross Country Meets, Swim Meets, Track meets, choir concerts, school plays, things you never got to do growing up.

Thank you for trying new things-Driving our John Deere 4020 tractor. Bailer and wagons to help a neighbor get his 26 acres of hay done… though your back was due for another surgery 8 months later.

As you walk pain free, skipping, running galaxy to galaxy with your ancestors, and long lost friends, you will never forget every moment anymore. Till we met again and sing the Hallelujah Chorus in 1978-79, or Johnny Be Good 4 days before you passed.
