Edward James Schurr

Edward James Schurr, age 95 of Grand Rapids, passed away August 19, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Schurr; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Boochard, Karen Boochard. Edward is survived by his sons, Edward Boochard, and Jeffery Boochard; 7 grandchildren; niece, Denise Schurr. He graduated from Columbia and went on to teach at Ferris State University. Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed surfing, swimming, and scuba diving. Visitation with the family will be held from 10am-12pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Porter Hills Benevolent Fund.
