Dzidra Dagmara Apsite

Dzidra Dagmara Apsite, age 98 from Grandville, MI, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024. She was born in the city of Riga, Latvia in 1926. Dzidra was preceded in death by her husband, Janis Apsite in Oct. 2014. She is survived by her children, Aivars (Eva-Marie) Apsite,  Mara Gamalski; along with five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Dzidra was very involved with the local Latvian community and the Latvian Ev. Lutheran Church. She loved to host her extended family for holidays and special occasions. Dzidra was fiercely independent and lived by herself in her house until the age of 97. She spent the last year of her life enjoying the care and comradery of Sunset Manor. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 12pm-1pm on Friday, August 23, 2024, at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546, with a funeral service following at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America.  www.scouting.org
