Doyle L. Whittum, age 92, of Lowell, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty; son, Henry; brother, Richard; and sister, Marian Hamilton.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Iris; his children, Michael (Stephanie) Whittum, Clarence (Nikki) Whittum, Kenny (Ginnie) Fuller, Kim Rogers, Rev. Matt (Misty) Fuller, and Bonnie (Art) Ring; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Whittum; brother, Norman (Donna) Whittum; sister, Maxine Heyd; sister-in-law, Maxine Whittum; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doyle proudly served in the United States Army. Following his service, he built a career in banking with Old Kent Bank, where he eventually retired. In his free time, Doyle enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time outdoors. He also dedicated 25 years of service as a Board Member of the Wesleyan Church.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Lowell Church of the Nazarene, 201 Washington St., Lowell, MI 49331, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Ed O’Connor officiating. Interment will take place at Sherman Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
