DelRita Pearl, age 76 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Sparta, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eva VanDette; in laws, Nels and Lena Olson; first husband, William J. Pearl; second husband, Clare Sparks; brothers, Charles VanDette, Ralph VanDette; and sister, Lois Wheeler. DelRita is survived by her children, William H. (Hilda A.) Pearl, Neil G. Pearl, Amy (Tim) Deberg, Sherri Nicohson; grandchildren, Isabella A. Pearl, William J. Pearl, Allison L. Pearl, Tori Carey, Kylie Boss, Dylan Nichoson, Skylar Nicohson; 6 great-grandchildren; countless adopted grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen Jelsma; nieces and nephews, Christine, David, Debra, Mara, Tracy, April, Jim, RJ, Brian, Ray, Mike, Jeff and Sabra, Rene, Rachel and Robyn; and very close friends, Dykema Family, Jean Sherwood, Redner Family, and Whaley Family.
DelRita grew up in Lakeview, MI. She went on to attend and graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, camping, and collecting tea pots.
Services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the CrossWay Community Church, 3950 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 with visitation one-hour prior with luncheon after service. Will be placed to rest at Meyers Cemetery in Sparta at a later date.
The family would like to thank Commonwealth Living for caring for her so very well the last couple of years and to CrossWay Community church for welcoming her with open arms and making her feel so welcome.
