Charles Richard Meehan

Charles Richard Meehan, age 72 of Grand Rapids, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Angela Meehan (1972). He is survived by his wife Sharon; children Chris (Debra) Meehan, Brad (fiancé Ashley) Meehan, Lisa (Chris) Savoie, Kim (Dwayne) Thomas; grandchildren Cody Meehan, Josh Tarpley, Nick Savoie, Nate Savoie, Austin Quick, Ariana Meehan, Alyssa Thomas, Connor Meehan, Ethan Thomas, Sophia Meehan, Matthew Meehan; great grandchildren Henry Meehan, Wesley Savoie. Chuck served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict and participated in the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps. He worked for thirty years at Fruit Basket Flowerland many of those years acting as store manager. Chuck was a golf fanatic and enjoyed time spent playing in the IHM Golf League and Tyler Creek scrambles. A visitation will be held Friday 5-6:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 p.m. at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. S.E., Grand Rapids. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to a fund for Mariah and Savannah the daughters of Chuck’s dear friend Kellie who lost her husband October 10, 2016 Derek VandenBerge.
