Cathy J. Ronis (nee Totoraitis), age 74 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Martin Ronis; children, Nik (Kattie) Ronis, Erik (Lesley Reid) Ronis; grandchildren, Lilija and Parker Ronis; sister, Patricia (Rick) Zandstra; nephews, Seth and Evan Zandstra; as well as numerous extended relations with the Snoap, Kruizenga, Heukels, Johnston, and Totoraitis families. Cathy graduated from Grandville High School in 1967 and went on to get her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University and her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. She worked as an art consultant at Grand Rapids Public for 22 years. Cathy appreciated art, spending time outdoors, gardening, and cooking. She enjoyed going to their cabin in Alba and enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. Her family would like to thank the staff at Green Acres of Standale and Faith Hospice for their compassionate care of Cathy over the years. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2024, with visitation from 11:00-1:00 pm at O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Funeral Home, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Chaplain Caleb Walcott officiating. Interment Rosedale Cemetery.

You were loved by so many people and each and everyone of us including myself will always remember all the good memories we had together .Even though you barely talked to me, that smile made me so happy and Marty, don’t be a stranger and come visit when you can 🙂
