03/23/2025

Betty Hoeppner went to be with her Savior on March 23, 2025, at the age of 89.

Betty was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 14, 1936, along with her twin sister, Bernice, to Karl and Olga Schnick. On October 16, 1965, she married the love of her life, Frederick Hoeppner, who passed away in 2023. Shortly thereafter Betty moved to Porter Hills Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to be closer to her daughter.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Karlene, and son-in-law, Dave Ross; her granddaughter, Naomi; and grandson, Caleb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; and her two parents; two brothers, Willie and Arthur Schnick; and three sisters, Clara and Hilda Schnick, and her twin sister, Bernice Ziebell.

A funeral service for Betty will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank Porter Hills memory care (Harmony Hall) and all the very kind aides who have supported, cared for, and smiled at Betty to keep her always feeling loved and valued. Betty cherished her aides. Emmanuel Hospice helped her greatly through the last leg of her journey on earth.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that contributions be made to the Porter Hills Benevolence Fund or to Betty’s church, Christ our Savior Lutheran Church, 4610 Belding Rd. NE, Rockford, Michigan 49341.
