A Memorial Mass/Celebration of Life is planned for Bernie’s family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances on Friday, September 10, 2021, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1449 Wilcox Park Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI. Visitation to begin outside the church at 10:30 am with Mass to follow at 11:30 am. We will then gather for lunch and drinks at Fred’s Italian Restaurant, 3619 Plainfield Avenue NE. On October 14, 1950 I met Bernie DePrimo. He and my husband were best of friends and Dan chose Bernie to be his best man at our wedding. As the years passed and at Dan’s death in May 2011, Bernie came to Dan’s wake and introduced himself as Dan’s best man at our wedding. What a wonderful tribute to the long lasting friendship between Dan and Bernie! Bernie DePrimo’s name will always be part of our Hefferan vocabulary. Love, Gloria Hefferan
