Bernard “Bernie” Allen Mohr passed away on September 22, 2024, at the age of 94 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Helen Ann Mohr. He is survived by their children Mark (Michelle) Mohr of Ada, Gregory (Marla) Mohr of East Lansing, Thomas (Geri) Mohr of Grand Rapids, and Gary (Lisa) Mohr of Chicago; grandchildren Dustin (Erica) Mohr of Grand Rapids, Mackenzie (Michael) Stolarczyk of Grand Rapids, Madison (Dillon) Rush of Royal Oak, Grace (Aiden) VanLoo of Royal Oak, Mitchel Mohr (Mackenzie) of Norton Shores, Lauren (Alex) Velting of Grand Rapids, and Sam and Nicole Mohr of Chicago; brother Thomas (Louise) Mohr and special cousin Pat (Dan) Grudzinski of Ray, Mich. Great grandchildren Maximilian Stolarczyk, Emerson Mae Rush, Olivia Ann Velting, Miller Alan Mohr. He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice J. (Irene) Mohr of Jackson, Mich., brothers Maurice “Chuck” (Elizabeth) Mohr of Phoenix, Ariz., and Donald (Dorothy) Mohr of Eaton Rapids, Mich. Bernie graduated from Michigan State University and was a Korean War veteran who was assigned to the Plant Engineering Agency based in Fort Myer, Va. He worked in the computer and communication industry for 43 years and was an owner and past president of a West Michigan communications company. Bernie was a lector at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church in Ada, Mich., and played golf with the church league for 25 years. Bernie coached little league baseball for many years, and he and wife Helen attended every possible event for their children and grandchildren. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am, Oct. 17, 2024, at St. Robert of Newminster Catholic Church: 6477 Ada Dr. S.E., Ada, MI 49301.
