Virginia Cristy Gengle, age 98 of Grand Rapids, passed in peace on Monday, December 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by many loved ones, including her husband, Edward Gengle; brothers John, Joe, Bill, Al, Howard, Ed; sister Marge (Gaylord). Virginia is survived by her children Ginny (Jim) Czadzeck, George (Connie) Gengle, Bob (Barb) Gengle, Mike (Karen) Gengle, Trish (Rob) Robertson; grandchildren Steven, Eric, Beth, Jill, Katie, Alyson, Audrey, Sarah, Jonathan, Michelle, Andrea; and 29 great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School in River Rouge, Michigan. Virginia lived the majority of her years in Melvindale, Michigan, moving to Grand Rapids late in life to be near family. She was a woman of faith who treasured her family and friends. She found delight in dancing, choir, sewing, games, crossword puzzles and playing cards. There was nothing Virginia enjoyed more than an interesting conversation with an old or new friend. She loved to laugh and kept both her sense of humor and sharp mind until the very end. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1935 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, with visitation one hour prior. Fr.
