Anne Hohmann Copps, age 76 of East Grand Rapids, died Friday, June 29, 2012. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Lou Copps. She is survived by her children, Cathy (David) Heldt and Tom (Wendy) Copps; grandchildren, Peter Heldt, Frances Heldt, Murray Copps and Lowell Copps; sisters, Jane Krahmer and Louise (Jerry) McNeive; also loving nieces and nephews. Anne was an occupational therapist for the Grand Rapids Public Schools for many years. She was a member of the Women’s City Club and the Grand Forum. Anne tutored children at IHM school, was active at Fredrik Meijer Gardens and was a Hospice volunteer. She was a great lover of the environment. She greatly loved nature, birds and generously supported causes to preserve our nature. Her love of children showed in her affection for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and all the children she worked with over the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Rev. Troy Nevins, presiding. Graveside services will be Tuesday 3:00 PM at Pilgrim Home Cemetery, E. 16th Street in Holland. Visitation Monday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the O’Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE. Rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 PM.
